This project aims to get more diverse US based writers, writing for the US Guardian.

The Guardian is running a pitching seminar for the New York team in July. We are looking for article ideas for our Features, Business, and Comment sections for the US Guardian.

This initiative has been a great way for new and aspiring writers from diverse backgrounds to write for the 3rd most read online news media organization in the world. In 5 previous workshops, we have commissioned 88 articles by diverse writers across different sections of the Guardian both in the UK and US.

Here is information on how to apply! You can also check out the ad on the front page of The Guardian’s US website (on right hand side).

The deadline is Midnight EST on Sunday 22 June 2014. Don’t forget to tell them you heard about it on Arts in Color!
