Guys. December is upon us. I don’t know about you, but I think 2014 has flown by! Before we welcome in 2015, take some time to get out and enjoy a little theatre. You just might be inspired to make a big leap into the new year by trying something new yourself. If we don’t change as individuals how can we expect to see any change in our world? So, in between checking out new theatre, go out there and do your part to change the theatre scene and give the shot of diversity that reflects the world we see and even the world we hope for! Who knows? We just might be writing about you and your new work in 2015!

TONY TUESDAY: Lea Salonga

Which Tony Award winner has also been a Disney Princess? Lea Salonga. Salonga is the first Filipino actress to play Eponine and Fantine in the musical Les Miserables on Broadway and that’s not even what won her Tony!

FUN FACT: Lea Salonga provided the singing voices for two official disney princesses: Jasmine in Aladdin and Fa Mulan in Mulan.

Ever wonder what it’s like to perform internationally? Whether it’s a cruise, tour, or international sit down performing abroad can be both exciting and challenging. When you are faced with the opportunity (or even consider/dream about it) some questions may come to mind. Well you’re in luck!

Arts in Color is teaming up with an actress currently performing in Tokyo-Bianca Denis. Bianca arrived in Tokyo, thanks to Disney, where she can be found onstage in a 1930 revue called Big Band Beat. On the blog Bianca has agreed to share her experiences and insights during her time in Tokyo (through September). We’re lucky to have her!
